Background
The Health module of SLAITS is operated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) and is sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services. Health items include access and barriers to care, health insurance coverage, health status, health care utilization, demographic characteristics, and family income.
Database Capabilities
Users can download the survey instrument, methodology report, frequency counts as PDFs. Users can download the public-access dataset into SAS statistical software.
Data Notes
The Health module contains health information piloted in Iowa and Washington and was collected in 1997.This module includes questions from the National Health Interview Survey and the Survey of Income and Program Participation collected using random-digit dial (RDD) telephone surveys.
